When you say, 'poor' are you speaking destitute poverty or merely lower middle class? When you say 'no love in your life', would that include family? When you say 'or' does one scenario automatically preclude the other?

Almost every time someone posts a question like this, they are really trying to see if someone will actually choose money over love. Also almost every time, it's a female that posts this question.

So what does that tell us? Well, from a simple crunching of the numbers it would seem to suggest that a large number of the female membership of this forum have a latent preoccupation with love issues. While I would agree that a generous portion of the male population does as well, I think we can all surmise how it would manifest in multiple suspended accounts.

With all that being said, I would certainly, unequivocally and beyond a shadow of a doubt choose MONEY over love. Paul and John couldn't have been further from the truth when they wrote 'money can't buy you love'. Love can be bought and sold like so much fertilizer and is probably less expensive. Do you have any idea how much love will buy you in todays society? Nothing.

I'd rather be rich. Being poor sucks. Plus if I were rich, I could do some good with my money, like set my Mom up for life as 1. She's had a hard life and deserves some comfort in her last days. I'd gladly give up the love of my life if it meant I could do more good in the world.

Give me the poverty stricken life and I'll die happy knowing the love I've lived, the love I've had. Love is so superior to wealth and even a poor man will have a habitat, food, and clothing. How much more housing do you need to live in? Just how much food can you eat in a day? How large a closet do you honestly need to be clothed properly?
I'll take the poverty of love darlin.

You will find more fullfillment in life if you have someone that you love to share everything with; who, in turn, wants to share their life with you.

Money is "man made". Too many individuals make money the purpose of their life and their happiness. Sure it makes things easier, I am not going to be altruistic and say that money isn't important in our society.

However, they say, "Money is the root of all evil!"

Evil has a way of disguising the right path to take. What are you gonna do when you are about to die and sitting there with all your cash. It won't mean a thing at that point, and I am willing to bet, that you would trade it all for a chance at finding true happiness and a meaningful life!

You have to strike a balance between these.
Yes , you need money for a comfortable life. When you run short of money or you suffer from poverty , LOVE FLIES THROUGH THE WINDOW OF YOUR HOUSE.
Don't fall in love with a person knowing fully well that he can't meet your demands 9I mean, he can provide you with the luxuries of life you are used to ......in reality , no one can go on sacrificing his/her desire to live a comfortable life , economically speaking).
i am telling you exactly what you should do.....you are an intelligent girl.I am sure, you understand what I mean.

God Bless

And would you class life as "smooth" if you were suffering from a mental illness whilst you were living this idyllic life? Money cannot buy happiness because so many things in life happen without any direct correlation to monetary accumulation and spending at all.

do you mean poor like having nothing to eat, or poor like living a modest life with very few luxuries? if you mean the second, i would take that and the love of my life...maybe in time we could earn some more money together =)

rich. yeah, i know, its not the obvious answer, but i think that everyone has loads of possible soul mates, so just cos i'm rich it doesn't mean i'll never find a love of my life. maybe i'd miss out on one, but there'd be another. i don't think there's just one person for everyone.
