well first of all
back her up all the way

let her know you are alwas there and will always be there to support her

let her stay at yours for a bit and you can monitor the ammount she drinks

if she does want a glass of wine

i suggest get the bottle of wine before she gets her hands on it either: hide it, or pour half the bottle out into the sink and add water if she wonders why it has been opened just say you fancied a glass and she wont notice a thing

after shes drank it tell her the truth that you have tipped it away and that she doesnt need a drink only a glass of water

if you decide these are bad ideas simply take her to council meeting (apparently they are great and relly help) and go with her for a bit of support and take her for a while and it will be great

hope it helps you out

x

i'd like to say that i'm some great person who would talk some sense into him and make him quit, but knowing me i'd try to make him feel better about it by drinking with him. but drinking with him, i'd probably stop sooner and then he'd decide not to drink since the guy drinking with him stopped, and then he'd stop with me hopefully.

I would tell them they had a drinking problem, provide them with some literature on it, offer my support, and suggest they get some professional help. Beyond that, they are responsible for themselves.

Be supportive to them,
don't pretend you 'know what they're going through',
offer advice on how to stop they're problem
and give them information about professional help.

I think its great that you want to be there for your friend...

just be patient x

Honestly- you can't make anyone quit anything that they're not ready to. I'd tell them what you think and go from there

Depends on the problem.

Spills it? get a bib.

Can't buy it? tell him to wait til he's old enough.

Drinks too much? talk to him about it.
