Well of course I'd love the Sox to win another but I'd be so happy for the Cubs if they won it.

Chicago Cubs fan please don't hate me for saying this, but I think that if the Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs made up for the World Series, I think the Boston Red Sox will win the Series. They have already won 2 World Series this decade, and the Chicago Cubs have won none. Plus under thier manger, the Boston Red Sox have swept both teams hey met in the World Series. And the Colorado Rockies played exactly like the Chicago Cubs did in thier series with the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Chicago Cubs will be in trouble, andthey would do whatever it takes to win a 3rd Series. It wouldn't be like the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox series, where the Chicago Cubs might own them, but at least let them win a game or 2 during a season series. The Chicago Cubs will have no chance, and I think that ll be most watched in the United States, but I doubt it will be outside the United States.

If it were to happen in 2008, it might get good viewership considering the Cubs were in it. But if it would've happened in 2003 when they were both heading in that direction until they each got derailed, that would have been one of the biggest viewerships that the WS ever had, not to mention one of the greatest "feel good" baseball stories ever.

Obviously I'm talking a double scenario, so if it had been 2003 Cubs would have won possibly in six but realistically in seven games. Those two were much more evenly matched at the time. Huge viewership too.

If it were 2008, Red Sox would win and either by sweep or in five games and the viewership would be only slightly better than this years WS.

The problem with the WS is that unless there's an East or West coast team in it, viewership suffers.

Unfortunately - even if it happened - I don't think it'd be the most televised event ever. It would have been better reciprocated when the Red Sox were still loveable losers... but they're a powerhouse now with a couple world series rings in the recent past.

not that i'm hoping for it - but i think a Yankees/Cubs series would potentially attract the most viewers. A real David and Goliath story.

I would love to see that matchup. It would be some great World Series games. I would hope the Cubs win, because I'm a cubs fan, but with how the A.L. has a lot of power, it would be a miracle if the Cubs pulled it off.

It would be a DREAM Series....Wrigley Field and Fenway Park....the two oldest ball parks...plus it will mark 100 years since the Cubs won the World Series....the hype would be unbelievable and Chicago would be upside down...and with Beantown going for so long before they finally made it....the making of a great Series is there...not saying it would be the most televised event, but it would be right up there......Let's go out on a limb and give the Cubbies the edge in seven games......Great Question !

Only for Cubs fans. Was I dreaming when last years World Series tv viewship was the second lowest ever?? Thought so. Cubs vs. Yankees would be. But not with Boston.

I believe that it could be the most watched baseball series but I don't think it would be the most televised or most watched sporting event...and if you are talking about the two teams right now...I would have to say the Sox would take it.

No it definitly wouldn't be the most televised. Why would people in other countries be interested in this?

If it was in 2004 then it probably would of been one of the largest WS viewerships. But they only reason it would be big in the future is because both have a large fanbase. But the same can be said with other teams too.

I think it'd draw a ton of viewers, but definitely not the most televised sporting event ever. The World Series will never beat the Super Bowl, b/c the World Series is a string of games and the Super Bowl is one game for all the marbles.
