This weekend I'm helping teach a Wilderness First Aid Basic (WFAB) class with the Red Cross, and on Sunday all the instructors are acting out some very realistic scenarios to show the students what a real emergency is like. The problem is that we have a very small class, and our usual scenarios won't work well. One we'll probably use is a bear attack, with an evisceration, severe laceration, and a hidden unconscous victim. Other than that, our typical situations are out of the question. If anyone can think of something that would work, that would be wonderful!

Thanks for all the answers! I didn't expect this many!
We usually also have an amputated leg, occasionally we have a gunshot victim, there's always someone with a spinal. We go all out for this; I usually make five gallons of very realistic fake blood.

In my neck of the woods, we do a scenario involving drunk climbers zippering out of a rock face. Fall (orthopedic and internal injury) complicated by inebriation.
It's very common.

I would think the likely injuries to be seen would be as a result of falls, so that would include fractured limbs. Also, sprained ankles. Venomous snake bites should be addressed. Poison oak or ivy, depending on where you're located. Does "hidden unconscious victim" mean you plan to pretend you find someone down from an unknown cause? Then, a little CPR needs to be taught; how to open an airway safely. You would presume a neck injury if someone's found down. Look, listen and feel for adequate respiratiions. How to transport someone who's unable to walk. Does this help?

Jeeayzus, do you really have that many bear attacks? Skip the horror factor, and go with what usually happens:
- Gunshot accident caused by hunter, dressed up, providing hysteria and/or ignorance
- Fall from a tree, trying to take a picture
- Person found in wilderness, wandered for days, hypothermia, dehydration
- Ingestion of wild plants / poisoning

Aside from what's already been mentioned, and there have been lots of good suggestions, don't forget the agony of the feet! Blisters! Also diarrhea, giardia (from drinking contaminated water). The weirdest thing that ever happened on a camping trip I was involved with was a man fell and broke his ARTIFICIAL leg!

First or second degree burn.
dehydration
severe stomach distress
poison ivy in eyes
food poisoning
most wilderness emergencies are of a more common type of situation;while animal attacks are interesting, they really don't happen that often.
