Legends, you are incorrect about this again. Your friends might not know that much about baseball, but I have no knowledge of that. I do know that in this instant, they're not right.
Nomar DID NOT have more than 50% of his at bats with the Red Sox in 2004.
He had 165 at bats with the Cubs and 156 with the Red Sox.
Not sure if you read the answers after your's, but here's a link to his stats.

The answer is, there is NO RULE as to who gets one. It is completely up to individual organization.
ps. To answer Legends' question, as to who did less than Nomar and received a ring, the following players did: Brian Daubach, Rickey Gutierrez, Ellis Burks, Andy Dominique, Adam Hyzdu, Sandy Martinez, Earl Snyder, Byung-Hyun Kim, Pedro Astacio, Abe Alvarez, and there were 5 or 6 other players... Also, the training staff, and every other member of the organization.

I dont have a list for the Red Sox, but I believe you would be surprised with how many rings are awarded. You can find listings of who on each club gets a playoff share because its reported as taxable incomes. This part varies from team to team as its the parent ballclubs decision on who gets a ring and of which degree (some rings have more valuable gems in than others). Team personnel all get rings (players, coaches, GM, President, Doctors, trainers, strength coaches, clubhouse managers, travelling secretary, upper management, media relations, broadcasters, groundskeeper, and other behind the scene full time operations personnel such department heads in HR, Security, Payroll, Marketing, etc.... Again tho its the clubs decision on who gets one, and what its worth however as most organizations make approx 90 million for a world series appearance according to yahoo sports analyst, 100 rings is really not much to splurge on.

As far as I know anyone that plays a single game for the Red Sox gets a ring. In 2004 the Red Sox baught everyone in the organization a ring, and while I doubt they will do that again, I think a lot of the organization will get a second (all scounts, most management and higher level executives of the team).

C-note -- oh, you're not fooling anyone -- you are so full of $hit that the whites of your eyes are brown.
The challenge is still before you, to find any of my posted material anywhere else on the Web from where I cut'n'pasted. Try it, liar.
EVERY player on the 2004 Red Sox got a ring, even bit parts like Jimmy Anderson and David McCarthy, and they certainly did less than Garciaparra did.
I don't know why you keep making it personal with me. Were it not for your animus, I would be glad to continue ignoring you. Put another way, a quote from the brilliant film Casablanca (you probably wouldn't like it, the story is about mature adults):
Ugarte (C-note): You despise me, don't you?
Rick (Chipmaker): If I gave you any thought I probably would.
Anyway, since you are still engaging in unfounded character assassination -- c'mon, liar, find a source -- I'm off to report your trash. Everyone appreciates a cleaner, fresher-smelling forum.

Every active player and coach will receive a World Series Ring. And every Red Sox staff will receive a bonus as well.

I'm pretty sure they all get rings right down to full time security at Fenway to The Drop Kick Murphy's.

This is an educated guess of mine, but it's based on fact and of a few friends of mine who know their baseball more than 99% of people on this site (especially Chipmaker and such who google search and copy/paste w/o ever answering the question). If you have 51% of your at bats for the team who wins, you get a ring. Period. As far as the club house guys goes, and trainers, etc??? NO WAY?!?! Are you serious? Nomar got a ring for 2004, but he was traded at the deadline. Name one other player who did less than Nomar and still got a ring. I think I made my point.... NUFF SAID!
Hold on I should add a point. If you were on the postseason roster you got a ring. That goes without saying though in my opinion.
