I always try to for a lot of reasons depending on what it is.
They already have it.
It doesn't fit.
It is broken or a part is missing when they open it.
It wasn't the one they wanted.
They just don't like it
They would really rather have gotten something else.
They would rather take it back and use the money for something else.
The people I buy for are close enough to me to know that my feelings won't be hurt if they return it for what ever reason.
I would much rather them take it back and get something they would really use or like better than to have them throw it in a drawer somewhere where it will never be seen again.

I have never given a receipt with a Christmas gift. If I thought the person was going to return or exchange my gift, I wouldn't give them something in the first place. I put much time and effort in my giftbuying and try to purchase things that I believe the person will want or need.
(((hugs)))

You should not if it is something like a game or movie. you can always ask a relative or something if they have it!
If it is clothing then you should give a receipt but make sure it is a gift receipt(it does not say the price) in case it is the wrong size or they want something else! if you are not sure what the size is always go for smaller sizes b/c then if it is too small they will think WOW you really think i am THIS small thank you
It will make them feel better about themselves!
you welcome and don't forget the wrapping paper
bye

I do, just in case the person has the item already, or it's the wrong size in clothing. It's much easier for them to have a gift receipt than for me to dig through all my Christmas receipts and give it to them.

Target gives out gift receipt with their you shop there incase you needed to return the person who got the gift I mean. But they don't show the price on there. Walmart doesn. I keep my receipt and if they ask me to return and give them something else I would. But right now I don't since I know want to get them..

I only give receipts if its something like clothes. Such as a sweater, shoes, or pants. Because we can't always know what brand fits the person best. Also if it's electronically I may keep it around so if something were to mess up or break they can return it though usually I go with the warranty if able.

Depending on the store and person I do. Many of the people I buy for are in Tennessee and I'm in Ontario. If it's a chain, I try to buy from a Michigan store so that they can return the item. If I buy from a local store, I do not. I offer to give them the value of the gift myself if they don't like/want it. As these are my relatives, they don't mind.

I always keep the receipt, and tell them if they don't need/like it or if wrong size they can exchange. I usually make Christmas gifts and they come guarenteed.

It depends on who the gift is for and how sure of myself and the gift I am :-) If I know I hit it on the head then no, but if I think for a second they may not need or want then yes.

I do, because I don't want them to feel they HAVE to keep it. I want them to have a gift they love, whether I am the person who bought it for them or not.
