Castro's brother will assume control. Best thing that could happen in Cuba is if Casto's brother dies as well and Castro's son is the new dictator (he is pro western). Funny how all of Casto's kids live in Texas now isn't it if Cuba is such a "great" country...

Whoever takes control will be without the stigma of being Fidel Castro so he will be free to try to ease tensions with the United States and bring Cuba out of isolation. The first step to doing this will be increasing freedoms for the people. I don't know if democracy is in their near future, but relations with the US will certainly lead to a better quality of life. At the very least, they can finally get some new cars.

At first his brother will take control, but shortly there after he will lose control to a coup. Then there will be a push towards elections in order to gain favor with the US. Once they have held free elections the US will re-establish relations, remove the embargo and Cuba will prosper as it once did as investors move in upgrading the infrastructure.

They'll lay him out for the country to go to and mourn and wail and gnash their teeth over, then his brother will be in charge and things will continue to go on the way they have been the last 50 years.
