Muslims in Khartoum Sudan are calling for the execution of the teacher whose class named their prized teddy bear Muhammed. What on earth is going on? To say that they are intolerant is a compliment.
Now, do those who oppose the war on terror REALLY think that radical Islam will just go away or that they will come to the table and hammer out an accord? I think not.

I have been saying this since 9/11 "THEY" are at war. It's high time we recognized it. I am for doing the fix, one terrorist nation at a time. Why bite off more than we can chew. We know they are evil. The USA is not interested in taking over countries, as an empire. We just believe in making them stop promoting terrorism and helping terrorists. Fighting evil, is not evil. "All that is needed for evil to win is for good men to do nothing." (1)

Sudan is a country that allows Muslim militiamen to take the land, water and lives of Christians and animists in the south. The government did not call for the teacher's execution, but it has condoned mob demonstrations which have led to calls for her death. The mobs in Khartoum are blood thirsty zealots. There is no bargaining with them; they are, as you say, out of their minds.

I oppose the war on terror as it has been defined and fought. The US has achieved little or no success and has alienated most of the world. According to several NIE's the action of the US in invading and occupying Iraq has increased the number of international terrorists. We need to deal with these issues in a rational way. A one-size fits all solution of not negotiating with Muslims until they agree to all of our conditions in advance will not work when it comes to the middle east or Africa or the rest of the world, for that matter.

I am still waiting for all the alleged "moderate Muslims" to express their outrage about the excesses. I guess I will have to wait some more.

BTW- Some mentioned the Crusades. This comes up a lot. I just want to notify the historically challenged as to what the Crusades were about. Islam ran rampant into Christian lands and forced the inhabitants to convert or die. (sound familiar?) The Crusades were an attempt to drive them out of those formerly Christian lands and liberate the Christians. It failed.

I mention this because for some reason it has been framed as a bunch of evil Christians trying to impose their religion on some poor harmless little Muslims. Remember, Christianity was in place for nearly 500 years before Islam even existed.

Ever wonder what religion was predominant in the Middle East before Mohammad began beheading people?

Yes they are crazy. People like to point fingers at the Crusades? This is worse even then the Spanish Inquisition and being labeled a heretic. If you name a teddy bear Muhammed you get executed? Yeah this is a great religion to belong to. It spits in the face of the word religion. There is no room for forgiveness or tolerance and it would be better labeled a cult.

American military intervention won't make radical Islam go away, it will only make the message of the radical elements more appealing.

Most Americans don't really care about how mysogynistic and repressive these societies are--they're just bloodthirsty after 9/11, and too lazy to make distinctions b/w different cultures in the region. The truth is, American foreign policy is probably the only thing OBL is right about.

HomeSchool's parents obviously didn't do a very good job.

This needs to be stopped! I don't see this as part of the war on terror. I do see it as antiquated thinking and action. I haven't seen the news but I hope and pray there is a world wide protest over this. I hope other countries are pulling their teachers out NOW!

This gives you a little insight as to what Jesus Christ saw upon the Romans nailing him to that wooden cross! Granted, she does not represent the salvation of humankind, and the Suddanese won't be nailing her to a cross, but the same idea is there, nonetheless.

They're nucking futs!

I do think this story exposes many problems with Sudan's laws, treatment of humans, and culture. But this story has nothing to do with terrorism. You are taking this story and politicizing it so you can make a political point about terrorism. And I have seen very little people who oppose the war on terror. I have seen, however, many people oppose to taking th war on terror, and using it as an excuse and overreaching it to be used against other, non terror related things like this.

Is attacking thier country the answer? We are the most advanced country in the world. Lets act like it.
Jacob W please check your history. The middle east is a very ancient civilization pre dating Christianity. The crusades were also started by Pope Urban II in an attempt to stop lesser knights from warring with each other for land. The net is just full of info if you use it.

It's known as "Idolatry" and is a sin in the Christian Bible as well.

"Thou Shalt Have No Other Gods before Me" (that includes Mickey Mouse, Buzz Lightyear and Ronald McDonald as well)

Ridiculous? Of course it is, but so is EVERY Organized Religion, whose sole responsibility is to bring its followers closer to their God and to assist them to achieve spiritual enlightenment.

Problem is, if everyone was spiritually enlightened, they could not be controlled and THAT is what religion is all about: CONTROL.
