What came first, the fruit or the color orange?

I think the color orange came first cause fruit takes awhile to fully grow and it's not the pretty colors when it first starts out...so there must of been other orange things first...the way the sunset looks sometimes, flowers, animals with orange spots?

I say the color came before fruit and I'm sticking with it.

The Fruit had to have came first.

My guess is someone looked at the fruit, and made up the word orange. After this happened, everything that was the same color as the fruit, was referred to as orange.

That's just a theory. :)

Sun is older than the earth therefor light existed before fruit and orange is kinda in the middle of the color spectrum

the color orange, even though there wasn't a name for it... i'm pretty sure that in prehistoric times there were orange colored things way before the fruits came about

the fruit, because before the color turns to orange, it starts with a little bit of yellow and green mixed together, time passes by, it becomes ripe then becomes orange.
