You may have depression. Sleeping a lot is a major symptom. But also, you just may hate work. It depends, which is more important? Try a better alarm clock, go to sleep earlier, or try some sleep medication. Maybe the commericals don't lie.

Alas, you are NOT a morning person. I am. I wake up bright, bushy-tailed, ready to go, and alert as soon as the alarm goes off. So does my middle son. My oldest son, however, has to be told and told, and even WHEN he sits up on the side of the bed, it takes him like 20 more minutes to realize he's really in this world, and technically up. (He's like his father) My youngest, wakes up, but is a little grumpy at first. We are all different. Maybe you need to go to bed a little earlier to get some extra sleep. If you exercise you'll feel a lot better (Not sure if you do or not), but if you do, don't do it right before retiring. It makes for fitful sleep. This could just be "how you are", and you might just have to learn to live with it, but I'm thinking if you gave yourself something to look forward to in the morning, that was a good reason to rise and shine, you might get up quicker. Like, have some coffee brewed so you can go have a cup first thing, and kind of ease into your morning. The caffeine will give you a little "kickstart" too.

I hate waking up. It kills me. I hit the snooze botton like for or five times. But I found a way to just wake up! Because someone told me.
Set an alarm to go off before the latest time you want to wake up. Make the alarm really quiet radio or music.
Then second alarm
Set a second alarm to go off at the latest time you want to wake up. This is your regular alarm that will wake you up no matter what.
and you wake up a little better. If that doesn't work. Just turn on a light or look out your window, because your eyes need light to be waken as well.

Put the alarm clock across the room, or even in the bathroom so that you get right into the shower. Fire up the radio with your favorite CD. Brush your teeth while the shower warms up. Use a 'bright'-smelling shampoo and soap, like generic Paul Mitchell Tea Tree to wake you up. Have something to look forward to everyday: a nice meal, shopping, meeting a friend. Fill your coffee maker the night before, and fire it up while you make breakfast. Yeah, it probably is a 'psych' thing, but it's also a GOYA (get off your *ss) thing, too, hee-hee...

It's probably because your bed is so comfortable your body got used to being there. Then a bit of laziness kicks in and makes you want to stay in bed. My dad runs his own company and I asked him what the hardest part of his job was. He said the hardest part was getting up in the morning, but after he got up and had his morning coffee he was good to go. Whatever you do if you wake up instead of closing your eyes for just a minute spring up immediately. Such quick motions that early will make it easier to wake up. Hop in the shower and take a good shower and get vitalized. Then go to your kitchen and get something good to eat like some eggs, bacon/sausage, toast, a good hardy breakfast. If you wake up early enough you could do what I do. When I wake up I get on the floor and do push-ups, sit-ups, and jumping jacks for one so I can get my exercise in, but for two so I can wake up easier. Then I get in the shower as I will be sweaty and get cleaned up for the day. Then I grab me some eggs and hot links with some orange juice and then read my book until about 10 minutes before I have to leave. Then I get my stuff ready, if I need a jacket, my shoes, any paper work I need for my work, cell phone, etc. Just before I leave I thank God for the morning and the beautiful day to come, even if the sky is dark and gray outside. If you keep yourself in a cheery, positive attitude you will have better mornings. Then by the time work starts you will have forgotten all about the discomfort of getting up so early and just be doing your thing.

me to i actually think i have something wrong with me. I can set as many alarms as i like but i must turn them off in my sleep because ill wake up and find that its way later than i set my alarm and it turns out iv already turned my alarm off. Even if i put my alarm the other side of my room i will walk over and turn them off and go back to bed without knowing it. I really would like to find a solution for this as its getting a real problem for me

You don't want to go to work, in stead of tossing and turning, just get up. You are making the start of the day miserable, which can carry through the rest of the day. Try just getting up one week and see if you have a different out look, and if you don't then maybe you should change jobs.

It's simply because you don't want to work. I used to feel like that for school. Try setting an alarm and wake up early on the weekend and see if you have the same problem.

Gee, you hit it on the head, I'm just like you. It could be that you are not inspired so much by the job you have now, that you feel it's no fun to wake up to it each day. But it could also just be as simple as, it's just feels so good to sleep some more. I so love my job right now but really, I just love sleeping.
