We actually have to wait until one serves as President in the US to pass judgment on it.
But as to a pretty solid guess. I think they can make a good president, but not any better. A woman can be equal, so can a man. Both are different but one is no better then the other because of the sex of the person. It depends on the individual and not if they are a man or a woman.

Until we have one presiding under our constitution and the laws of our land and our form of government we will not know. Hopefully when we have the opportunity to find out it will not be someone who complains that "the guys" are picking on her when they disagree with what she says. I retired after almost fifty years working for local, state and federal government. The last employer I worked for was managed by probably the worst manager I ever worked for; it was a woman. I worked for several women throughout my career and found most of them to be acceptable managers. I did work for several that were very poor managers lacking the ability to see things on a larger scale and focusing on day-to-day issues rather than longer term and bigger issues. In fairness I also worked for a man who had a doctorates degree in business management who had problems in everything from communicating to making decisions. It is not the gender that makes a leader but the ability to lead with the heart and mind in accord with the needs of the organization.

I don't see why a woman would be better than a man. We need to judge who will be a good president based on who they are and what they can contribute, though that is hard. But I don't think it's very fair to vote for a woman just because she is a woman. If she is saying what you want to hear, that's a better reason to vote for her.

I don't know about Presidents, but in the English Speaking World, they do pretty well as Queens. Three of the longest reigning and most successful English monarchs have been the two Elizabeths and Victoria.

No. Compassion and emotions aren't a quality of a good President.

No. And neither do smart people. You don't have to be a smart person to be a good president, you need to be a leader.

We just might find out in this country soon. Margaret Thatcher, Indira Ghandi, Golda Meir, etc. have all been successful in running their countries.

Wait until Hillary serves her first term and we will see. The US has never had a woman president, but may get one in 2009.
