I am stumped on what to get the person I drew this year. It is a cousin that I haven't seen in 5 years or so. (large family with lots of folks traveling and this year the whole group is coming in that means lots of new people to shop for. Anyways he is in his 30's (I think). Far as I can tell he perfers the simple stuff in life (no mp3 or stuff like that). THE RULES CLEARLY STATE NO GIFT CARDS. The limit is 25-30 dollars. This is what his card says----hunts with bow and arrow, outdoor person, loves country music, large in shirts, favorite animal is horses (i think he has a small horse ranch or a farm with like 30 horses)

Any gift ideas?

Go to a mall or shopping center that hasa poster, print or litographshop or inside a artists' warehouse type place (Michael's) or even a starving artists sale and find a painting of a running horse, horses or just a horse ranch. You can get these for under $20.00 and the post office can give you a mailing tube to roll it up inside for free and you wrap the outside. If you get a painting or something framed or you have money enough to frame it, then a gift box would be easier. Look around.

Get him a good pair of leather mitts.

Get him the socks for hiking that keep your feet from being wet.

Get him a bird feeder that is see through that you place on your window and include bird seed. The birds come right to your window to eat and you can see them in the comphort of your own home. With some Folgers Hazelnut coffee

Orange toque for hunting

A Plaid long sleeve shirt from Mark's Work Warehouse

My dad is a big country music fan. These are two new CD's that have come out this year that he has asked for:
-Anne Murray's new CD. She sings with artists like Shania Twain, Jan Arden,
-Johnny Reid (his newest CD) – has the song “Darling” on it.

A bottle of rhy

Include a gift receipt with whatever he gets. Heheh it's your way of getting around the no gift card issue. If he doesn't care for what he got them he can go and pick something else out without feeling like he would offend you.

How about some outdoor gear? Some wool socks, hand warmers, hats, things like that you can find at Bass Pro or Cabelas. Or how about a hunting magazine subscription? Or maybe a couple country "best hits" CD's, or a shirt from one of the outdoors places. Good luck!

I would go to a hunting type store and see what they have in stock or what they can suggest. You could also give a subscription to a bow hunting magazine.
He sounds like a neat guy! Good Luck

What about outdoor clothing? Hunting socks, hat, etc? Or even a warm hooded sweatshirt or work shirt. It sounds like he might spend a lot of time in the outdoors. (Although, you or he may live in a warm climate - I based my answer on my weather...cold!)
