This is my first pregnancy. I am 17 1/2 weeks pregnant. I know that with your first, it is normal to not feel the baby until around 20 weeks. My question is though - I felt the baby around 15 1/2 to 16 weeks for a few days in a row - it was a light, fluttery feeling. I seemed to feel it everyday in the morning when I was eating. For the past week, however, I have not felt it. Is this normal? To think that you feel it, and then not feel it again? I am not experiencing any spotting or pain or anything like that - just worried/not experienced. Thank you!

That is completely normal. Don't get nervous. You are still early to feel the baby and if you don't feel it for a few days, don't worry. The baby sleeps most of the day anyways. Also, it's possible that when the baby was moving, you were walking around or moving so you couldn't feel the flutters. I especially wouldn't worry because you don't have any pain or spotting.

Try drinking some juice or eating some candy and then laying down. You should feel some sort of movement after a few minutes. Sometimes in the beginning it's really easy to freak yourself out. If you've been really busy and constantly on the go, you're definitely not going to feel it. Not only does it put baby to sleep, but since the movement is so gentle at that point, it's nearly impossible. In the beginning, I too would go a few days without feeling anything. Try the "sugar rush" method and if that doesn't work, you can always call your doctor to see if they can get you in for a quick visit to use the doppler. Good luck.

I've had the same problem. And now I'm a mommy of 2. It's normal. alot of the time you just won't feel the baby move because you're busy with other things. Try drinking 2 large glasses of water and eating a snack, then lie down and I bet you'll feel it.

Its normal at that stage, its normal for it to be like that until about 20-22 weeks. Until then theyre so small and so mobile that they move to wear you just cant feel them for a few days or weeks.

Totally normal.

every thing is probably just.....at your stage in pregnancy the baby's bones are still but fully developed yet (meaning they are still soft)and he still really small.....so its not uncommon to not the feel the baby move....

but if you are worried about it call you doctor.but i think its all just fine....

good luck

You need to go to your Dr. and they will do a nonstress test to make sure everything is ok.
