charles bronson?

Question

I am buying someone a gift of charles broson movies, but I don't know which ones are his good ones. Could someone tell me what some of his older movies were that were popular back in the day?

Here's several that I have seen and liked. One thing to remember is that until the early 1970's, Bronson was not usually a leading man, but often appeared in ensemble casts.
I'm not including the Death Wish movies, as I didn't care for them.

"Machine-Gun Kelly" (1958) was his first starring role. Before that, he had just been a character actor in TV and movies

"The Magnificent Seven" (1960) as Bernardo O'Reilly

"Master of the World" (1961) co-starred with Vincent Price, based on a Jules Verne book

"The Great Escape" (1963) - as Flight Lt. Danny Velinski "The Tunnel King". One of the 3 men who actually got away.

"The Dirty Dozen" (1967) as Joseph Wladislaw

"The Valachi Papers" (1972) as Joe Valachi. I think this is his first movie with his future wife, Jill Ireland (ex- of David McCallum)

"Chato's Land" (1972) as Pardon Chato, with Jack Palance

"The Mechanic" (1972) as Arthur Bishop, with Jan-Micheal Vincent. This was his first real starring hit.

"Mr. Majestyk" (1974) based on an Elmore Leonard novel. he's a grapefruit farmer (!) who kicks Mob ****

"Breakheart Pass" (1975) as Deakin, based on an Alistair MacLean novel.

"Telefon" (1977) as a Russian spy. based on a Walter Wager novel.
