Just another example of why the world needs to step up and take over in Sudan.
The ongoing genocide; now this.
While Canadas troops are busy in Afganistan, and the US is tied up in Iraq, millions of people are displaced, dying and being killed in Sudan.
I am very much in favor of "live and let live"... we have no right to tell other countries how to live, and what values to follow.
I think, however, than when innocent children are being killed and driven from their homes, by the millions, it's time for the world to step up and say we wont stand for it.
If the world was doing what they should be doing, what they have a responsibility to the citizens of Sudan to do, this would never have happened.
Things could have been dealt with as is appropriate for a misunderstanding, rather than a crime, because that is all this is.

They are animals. Are Arabs in Sudan still practicing genocide against blacks? Instead of invading Iraq, this is where the next step in the war on terrorism should have taken place.
Does anyone want to have these people as neighbors?

It's definitely extreme. The problem is that I don't think the people there know what really happened. I hope that her actual sentence isn't overturned... 15 days in prison and deportation back to Britain. I pray that she's not killed in prison.

Yes, of course, but before we get all high and mighty about it, wasn't death a bit extreme for Joan of Arc, for example? Or the 6 million Jews in Nazi Germany? Who was rioting in the streets to save them?

I remember one time a 16 year old girl was executed for having sex. and if girls and boys(whether just friends or relatives) are caught alone together, they get lashings.. I believe it's mostly the girls that get the lashings too... It's Really Sad. Because that girl didn't kill, rape, or hurt anybody. She was being a teenage girl, and she got killed for it...
It's just cruel to make people fear for their lives if they do ONE thing wrong. She should be saved and taken out of that damn savage country and relocated where they can't get to her.
I feel that God doesn't want us to kill people in his name or anything, He wants us to save people and take the higher road.

This is a hot topic today. And yes it is extreme, but this is how they want to run their lives and country. All we can do is sit back and pity their uncivilized nature and hope that teacher is returned home to the realm of sanity.

It's extreme in our eyes but not in their eyes. I feel so sorry for this woman, all she wanted to do was help and teach children in an under-privelaged country and look what she gets in return. I understand they have very different laws to ours regarding their religion but they are too religion-focused to see that she made an innocent mistake. I hope she gets out of there asap!!!

Oh yeah. I can see where they think she offended them, but come on, she's not even a native. Cut her some slack. Death is way too harsh. How many kids in Africa (or wherever) are named Jesus? I don't take offense and kill their parents. No, you know why? Because Christians are cool.

Nah, I think we should listen to muslimes. They might be on to something here. If it's good for muslimes it must be good for everyone after all they pray to an imaginary being 10 times a day.
