"regedit" without the qoutes. But to be safe, when the registry editor opens, click "File" and make a bakup copy of the registry via the "Export" command.

On windows xp, and lower, type regedit in the run box.
In Vista, click Start and type regedit on the search bar.
Or, for windows, Vista and lower, just press the windows key and r... then enter

regedit but please unless you know what you're doing you shouldnt touch the registry and forgive me if I'm blunt but the fact that you don't know how to get into the registry indicates you are no expert. A little learning is a dangerous thing!
