This isn't the first time I received a warning about this movie; it's come from several different individuals (probably some of whom I'm sending it again). cj

In my opinion this may be the most blatant attack satan and the movie industry has made upon the children (and adults) of the movie-going world. Please read it and pass it on to those you know who have precious children and grandchildren who are unsuspecting. I just talked to a senior at USC. He saw the previews on television last night and was eager to see the movie until I read this to him.

ds populated by witches, armor-plated bears, and sinister ecclesiastical assassins to defeat the oppressive forces of a senile God.

Philip Pullman is an atheist and his objective is to bash Christianity and promote atheism. Literary works are subject to a variety of interpretations; however, Pullman left little doubt about his intentions when he said in a 2003 interview, "My books are about killing God." (Conservative British columnist Peter Hitchens labeled Pullman "The Most Dangerous Author in Britain " and described him as the writer "the atheists would have been praying for, if atheists prayed."). Pullman despises C.S. Lewis and Narnia, etc. Pullman said he doesn't think it is possible that there is a God and he has great difficulty understanding the words "spiritual" and "spirituality." The important part that needs to be communicated is the agenda for making this picture. This movie is a watered down version of the first book, which is the least offensive of the three boo

ks. The second book of the trilogy is THE SUBTLE KNIFE and the third book is THE AMBER SPYGLASS. Each book gets worse and worse regarding Pullman 's hatred of God. In one book, a character (an ex-nun), even describes Christianity as "a very powerful and convincing mistake." In the last book, a boy and girl are apparently depicted representing Adam and Eve and they kill God, who at times is called YAHWEH (which is definitely not Allah). Since the movie would seem mild if you viewed it, that's been done on purpose.Hollywood is hoping that unsuspecting parents will take their children to see the movie, which they will enjoy and then the children will want the books for Christmas. That's the hook. Pullman says he wants the children to read the books and decide against God and the kingdom of heaven. You may want to boycott the movie and the books due to the anti-religious message. The story also has topics that are not child friendly. For example, a part of the story discusses c

I think people need to question the morals of many Movies and TV programs. But, we also see this where things are headed. Watch some old B&W shows from the 50's maybe 60's. An interesting thing back then was the man and wife sleep in separate beds!!!! Now, I talking married here! But, back then we believed it was unacceptable to show a man and woman together in bed!
"I Dream of Jennie" shocked America when she showed her belly button in one episode.
Today we see man and woman, not wife, doing the Horizontal Bop. Heck James Bond is an Icon in foreign affairs and diplomacy.
So, what do we do? As parents, we must take responsibility for teaching our children and not expect society to teach morals. Most parents really not spend a lot of time with their children (I not saying ALL parents). Then we wonder why they play James Bond instead of House.
We can not shelter our children and lock them in a closet. Reality is here and it is the parent's responsibility to be informed and teach children.
The bottom line though is how, as a parent, do we teach this? Do we let our children run the streets to learn from others that have no leadership? Or, do we answer questions they ask us and be someone they confide in for answers and not be afraid of being told they stupid or to young to know that now?.

If you don't want to see it then don't. Noone is forcing you or anyone else to. I for one only want to read the books because I've found that when the Christian right make a big stink about something being bad then it usually turns out to be pretty good (ex. Harry Potter) Somehow I have a feeling that everyone is making a big deal out of nothing again. And by the way....how many people that are saying how bad it is have actually read the stories? I'm willing to bet that most haven't.

So whats the Truth behind it? That it has a Hidden Agenda? It will corrupt the minds of young children? B.S. Its just Movie Entertainment for goodness sakes, stop taking the imagination and the dreams away from children.

I remember as a young Child, my Parents were strict Catholics, and I got a heck of a beating because they told me not to play Dungeons and Dragons because it was the work of the Devil. I even got reprimanded for watching the cartoon Movie "Flight of Dragons." Gee look how messed up I turned out to be, I work at Fortune 500 Company in NYC.

It's a MOVIE. The church isn't giving their believers much credit to know the difference between fantasy and reality, are they? IF they want to see the movie, they should and they can decide if it is an attack on the church or not. I think the studios LOVE when religious groups read too much into a film and give it all this publicity. The more fuss is made, the more people will want to see it.

it may be said to be "killing God" as somewhere i read it, but id like to point out something. If you want to prevent your kids from seeing this movie go ahead, but i bet you would let them see a movie where there was guns involved. Not alot of violence just maybe the occasional gunshot. If you let them see that theres about the same risk level they will one day pick up a gun and shoot people as there is on them not believing in God because of one movie.
