I think it is a great idea. It looks good from the inside as well as the outside. It sure put me in the Christmas spirit when my wife used to do it! Maybe I'll try and get her to start doing it again.

Canned snow isn't THAT bad to remove (no worse than tempera paint, and it doesn't smell as bad - jeez). The only trick is if you goof, don't try to wipe it off right away. Let it dry first. Trying to wipe it off while it's wet will only make a huge mess. Let it sit for 10 minutes and then use a razor blade widget to scrape it off. And don't worry, it's not like cement where you'll have to work at it to get it off. But like I said, the whole trick is to NOT touch it at all while it's wet because it will smear and look junky. Once it dries its like powder.

**It also looks real nice if you get a few different snowflake stencils and do one or two in each window in the house with the spray snow, especially if you use electric candles in the windows.

Certainly it's a valid notion and I agree with both 1 & 2 in that you should research various substances.

I happen to live in FL; and I am surrounded by SnowBirds, who probably miss it? I'm very OK with a small tree stuck into the sand at the beach; but lived for many years in an area where snow was deeper than I was tall; and lasted for 6 months.

In any case; research what might be acceptable, not strictly in content or application; but in cleanup after the fact.

I think it would look really cute. I've done it in the past, and actually use black electrical tape to make "panes" and then frosted the corners of some of the panes. Be patient with the clean up. Some of that fake snow stuff is awful to wash off, and takes a bit of effort.... Have fun!

the "canned snow" is a total b!&$% to remove. Don't do it!!!!!!
hang some balls or use powdered tempera poster paints mixed with water to do some window painting (mix some liquid dishsoap in it if it doesn't stick to the window) when time to remove--use a razor blade style paint scraper & vacuum.
