I want to ask people their opinion, I know what I think but I want to hear from men and women what they think. So here goes....
1. Is it acceptable to find out that your partner has been on Facebook for sometime without inviting you to be a friend, and is stating they are single and looking for girls in their profile?
2. Is it right to state your single when you have been in a realtionship for 14months, to the 40 - 50 women friends he has on there as invited friends, that you have never heard of, or been mentioned. When you have never been invited to join your self?
3. Would it be considered reasonable to ask that his realtionship status is changed to "in a realtionship with you?"
What do you think?

No none of the above 2 are right, the third question is a totally reasonable request if your in a relationship why wouldn't he let everyone know unless he is trying to hide it and look single. There is nothing good about having status set to single if your not and not inviting your gf/bf to be on your friends....I think facebook has the potential to ruin relationships by making it very easy to look up old friends and bf/gf's, but then again if someone is going to be a sleeze then facebook is not making them be sleezier and it's not going to turn someone honest and dedicated to their relationship into a cheater.

That is absolutely unacceptable. Either you are in a relationship or your not. If your significant other is posting that the are single and hiding the facebook from you then he/she has probably already cheated on you more than once. People who don't post that they are in a relationship are not serious about it. And yes you have every right to tell them to change their status and if they don't you should probably leave them. because they more than most defiantly have cheated on you.
If you have been with someone for over a year that is a serious relationship, if after a year that person is not admitting to being in a relationship, you should dump them because they obviously don't respect you or care about you like they should.

well it is acceptable. If the person cared that much they should have invitied their significant partner to be their friend.
well they shouldn't state that their single on facebook thats not right
Yes it would be reasonable to ask the status to be changed
facebook is not ruining relationships. people ruin their own relationship.

I have myspace and used to have face book. and NO i do not think it is acceptable to say you are single when you arent. So just tell him/her that you would like to change the relatiopnship status. it is not too much to ask.
Also you need to address why he/she is "looking" for relationships online.
Stand your ground.
Good luck.

I think that Facebook is not responsible for the shakiness of your relationship. Instead, I think that the relationship is shaky anyway, and this is reflected in your boyfriend's unwillingness to indicate his relationship with you on Facebook. It appears that he's not as committed as you'd like him to be.

Yes, I would definitely ask your partner about that. He/she will need to explain it. Otherwise, I'd say he/she isn't taking the relationship seriously and you need to move on and find someone worth your time.
