The key to remember is that exponential powers add during multiplication.

Therefore, 10^5 * 10^2 = 10^7 (adding 5 and 2)

Likewise, 10^ -4 * 10^ -3 = 10 ^ -7 (adding -4 and -3)

Now you are simply left with multiplying 2*3 = 6
and 6 * 1.2 = 7.2

Therefore, here is what you get

(2 times10^5) (3 times 10^2) = 6 * 10^7

and (6 times 10 ^ -4) (1.2 times 10 ^ -3) = 7.2 * 10 ^ -7

1. (2*10^5)(3 * 10^2)= 2 * 10^5 * 3 * 10^2)=
2 * 3 * 10^2 * 10^5 =
6 * 10^(5+2) =
6 * 10^7

2.(6 x 10^-4)(1.2 x10^-3)=
6 * 10^-4*1.2 *10^-3 =
6 * 1.2 * 10^-4 * 10^-3=
7.2 * 10^(-4-3)=
7.2 * 10^-7

Which mean you are absolutely CORRECT!
