First of all, U have to select only and only one of the following THREE :
1) GOD
2) Society
3) Yourself
U must be 100% with only one of the above. And MUST NOT CHANGE under 'ANY CIRCUMSTANCES'. ... OK ???
Now........
IF U believe in GOD, accept anything He does with U as 'RIGHT'. Don't blame Him when U feel "He should not have done this or that !"....
In this case, He & only He is right, everything else is WRONG.
But if U have 100% belief in SOCIETY, accept whatever it does, -as RIGHT. U are never permitted to impose Ur personal judgement over what the Society says or does. ONLY Society is 'RIGHT', ...rest is 'WRONG'. What-so-ever might happen to U for going with the Society must be accepted by U as 'RIGHT'.
....And if U believe in YOURSELF, do whatever U judge RIGHT. Think not what the Society says, or care not even if GOD does not like it. Whether U go to Heaven or Hell, keep on believing that U & only U are 'RIGHT'. Everything else is WRONG. Even GOD is wrong, the Society is WRONG !!!
....OK, my Dear Friend ?????

What is right and what is wrong are defined differently in different circumstances. Example, it can be right at home to lick the plate, but it is definitely wrong at a restaurant. Why? Because what makes right and wrong is what the majority of people around you are prepared to allow you to do. This is why it is so important to learn about the customs of another country before you go there to live for a long time. In Malaysia, it is wrong (and illegal) to chew gum. In America it is a constitutional right (almost) to chew gum.

Your question is too broad. Do you mean morally or factually. The two meanings are different. If a thing is self-contradictory factually it is obviously wrong. The moral question is much more complicated, but it would resolve to asking what is the greatest human good. If you act so as to promote the good your action is right. If your act harms the human good, it is wrong.

Right would be anything that helps promote the better good of the people or society while wrong would be anything that hinders that progression while causing pain, suffering, or mental anguish to others.

Your ideas about what is right and wrong are based on your ideas of Good and evil

The good and evil that you see don't even exist in reality, at least not outside of the mind that believes in them. They are only judgments passed by the individual from their own unique perspective. What one person sees as bad or evil may seem to be the only logical thing to do from some other perspective. The ideas of both good and evil are point of view specific. This is why people like bush and bin laden are either loved or hated. Bush is seen as good by people who share his fear based thought system. Those who have a compassionate concern for all of mankind often see him as evil.

Bin laden is much the same. He is a villain in much of the western world, but he is somewhat of a celebrated pop star on the Middle East. There are T-shirt shops that sell items with his picture as though he was Jesus. It all depends on your point of view or perspective.

To sum it all up good is the name we give to people who do things that we think we like.

Evil is the name we give to people who do the things that we don’t like.

This is of course based solely on our particular point of view.

There are all kinds of contexts in which right and wrong can be used.

It is right to unscrew a light bulb by turning it to the right. It is wrong to unscrew a light bulby by turning it to the left.

It is wrong to run a red light. It is right to wait until the light turns green.

It is wrong to beat your child in anger. It is right to try and reason with your child.

It is right for a woman to go without a hat in the U.S. It is wrong for her to do this in an Islamic country.

People make up the rules of right and wrong. There is no universal right or wrong.

Right: that which works, in the long run and on the whole, for the betterment of humans and, in particular, for the mutual reconciliation of our innately conflicting desires, as well as for the beter adaptation of our species to its environment.

Wrong: that which fails, as defined by the standard set out above.

These are very subjective. It is what ever you deem to be right. Understand that this might be conflicting with the majority of people. Manson was always right in his mind, so were the Heaven's Gate Cult.
