The manager hired a new secretary. She was young, sweet, and polite.

One day while taking dictation, she noticed his fly was open. While leaving the room, she courteously said, "Oh sir, did you know that your barracks door was open." He did not understand her remark, but later on happened to look down and saw that his zipper was open.

He decided to have some fun with his new employee. Calling her in, he asked, "By the way, Miss Jones, when you saw my barracks door open this morning, did you also see a soldier standing at attention?"

The secretary, who was quite witty, replied, "Why, no sir, all I saw was a little disabled veteran, sitting on two duffel bags!"

Hey Sylvia

I think that we all 'hope' for honest answers to our questions, however as i'm sure your well aware, we often do not like the answers we get. So i often say that if you do not like the answers you are given then you should not keep asking sensitive questions. Obviously we need to try to be sensitive, but the saying ''the truth hurts'' is so so true, so ultimately i think it is fundamental that we are 'self-aware' ie women ocassionally may ask ''does my bum look big in this'' and my question is can you not see your own derierre, and if we are self aware we can make objective decisions about how we view things in the world, rather than asking for insincere affirmation. Which leads me to my final point, which is if you ask an honest question and you are given an honest answer, even if offends you, it is important to 'accept' it as graciously as you would a compliment, as this enables us to grow as individuals.

ps i do like the analergy of the physically challenged sitting on two duffel bags (har-di-har...har)

let me be the first to wish you a happy x-mas and a peaceful and happy 2008

That should have been funny and I just do not know why I did not think so. Perhaps I'm suffering from a lapse of humour

Good one Sylvia! Now here's one for you . . .

Two guys were discussing the new secretary at their office. John to George: "Man, I dated her last weekend and we had a great time in bed. She's a heck of a lot better than my wife is!"

Two days later. George to John: "Well, I dated her last night and we also went to bed, but I still think your wife is better!"

Hehehehehhe.......thats fun!....hmmm Do you expect a HONEST ANSWER?My answer, I think is Yes...bcoz in the 1st thing Human judge people by its outer personality....if its young, sweet, and polite people more trust it.So if that person answer something you will believe it bcoz it seems trustful,.....heehehehe but sometimes you will pretend to ignore it ...if its offense yourself...... :)

I guess that was an honest answer! And, it depends on to whom I ask the question! Some, just can't help themselves... It's a compulsive thing. Sad thing....

Anywhoo, thanks Sylvia, that was cute... I bet those duffel bags weren't packed either!
