Will Nintendo ever get rid of those stupid friend codes?

Question

I have a nintendo wii and I really wish the online was more like xbox live or playstation network (or upcoming home). Does anyone no if Nintendo has any plan to bag the friend codes?

Also I heard that on some games, they will have their own game server so friend codes are not needed. What does this mean?

I don't think Nintendo will ever get rid of the friend codes. It's not a bad thing. Have you ever played on XBL where you have little kids swearing and being a bad sport when they lose? With the friend code, you get to play with whoever you want.

Nintendo is a family oriented company, and it knows that most kids play the Wii so Nintendo needs to take some measures to protect the kids. That's where the friend code comes in handy. Both players need to have each other's code to play. If one player doesn't like the other player, he can delete the code. With random match-ups, you come across a bunch of weird people.

Friend codes aren't going anywhere. But really is it that big of a deal? It's no more of a pain than giving someone your phone number.

And Nintendo's online is already pretty close to the other services. You can still play random matches with people you don't have friend codes for.

Third-parties are free to not use friend codes at all if they want to.

well the friend codes are actually a good theig unless your impatiant because if you find some one you like to fight or lay with you get thier friend code and all and you can fight /play with them when thier on and the wii is more suited for kids and all

sry but idk Wii is mor for kids how ever i have the Wii but i like i ahve games like zelda n the godfather i luv the gameplay n the games n the games r gonna the server for no game codes wats the porblem
