My sister has been ttc for 2 years, last week she found out she was pregnant. she went to the doc. and he confirmed with a blood test that she is pregnant, but he said he could not find any sign of a baby with an ultrasound. at first he thought she could be misscarrying, but usually hormone levels are below 60 when misscarrying, hers is 500. they are sending her for more tests saturday, but i was wandering if anyone else has heard of this or knows what could be the problem. thanks.

It took my husband and I over a year to conceive, so when i found out, i went straight to the dr. They did a trans vaginal ultrasound, I was at 5 weeks, and there was a sac, but that was it. The dr. had to go really slowly too, or else they would've missed it. My hormone level was at over 4000 already though, so it could be that she's barely pregnant. My dr. didn't want to confirm the pregnancy for sure until he saw that the gestational sac actually had the embryo in it though, so he had me come back a week later for another ultrasound, and that confirmed it. That one was at 6 weeks and 3 days. Keep doing the tests, and I hope everything turns out ok.

It's totally normal not to see anything yet, it's too early. Most Dr's wont even do an ultrasound until the HCG levels reach 2000. By 5-6 weeks they should be able to see something.

Could be too early. Did they do a trans vaginal ultrasound? Could be a eptopic pregnancy....just going to have to wait for the tests to find out.

If she just found out she's pregnant it's too early to see a baby just yet...the dr should be able to see a sac but no baby yet...
