that they are brainwashed by their religion, and it's not completely their fault. It just what has been pounded in their head since childhood,

but seriously, rioting is a primitive action of idiots. hurting other people, destroying your own land is a stupid moronic thing to do. these people need to worry less about teddy bears and cartoons and more about their country, their government, and the their families.

I am getting a little restless waiting for all those alleged moderate Muslims out there to finally step up and express a bit of outrage. All I hear is a big wad of nothing.

You know, there are over a billion Muslims in the world. If all of this aberrant behavior was not actually indicative of Islam you would think there would be at least a few who openly denouce it.

(1) This is astroturf, not grass roots. Compare it to anti-abortion protestors -- a small minority of zealots who are manipulated by their leaders to create an inflated public impression of their influence and power.
(2) This is a lot like the campus "protests" of the 1960s. For every committed activist present, there were a dozen "hangers on" who just wanted to fit in with the crowd, to be a part of the excitement.

I don't get it. People convert to Islam and rename themselves Muhammed, if he was a deified prophet wouldn't it seem logical to consider an everyday average person renaming themselves after such an important part of an established religion blasphemy as well? People in this world are looking for reasons to be offended and it is getting ridiculous.

Nothing because it would be like talking to a wall. Stop aid to the countries and let them starve. I know that sounds cruel to us. the woman in question went to that country to help as others do and now rioters are asking for her death.

Learn to laugh...it's very good for the soul. Do not let someone elses bad sense of humor affect you so deeply. Be secure in who you are and what you believe. Then walk away the bigger person.
