Unless you are having to take fertility drugs or do in vitro fertilization, or unless twins run in your family there is no way to guarantee you will have twins. Even if any of the foregoing is true the chances are still pretty slim. It's even less likely that, if you do happen to get pregnant with twins, you will have a boy and a girl. Sorry, but it's really just luck of the draw. There are no guarantees with the stuff.

There is nothing you can do. But I can tell you that having fraternal twins, like you want, is a heredity trait passed down in the women in a family. Did your mother/grandmother/gr-grandmother, etc have twins...if so, then there is a chance that you will.Women that have fraternal twins release two eggs at the same time compared to just the normal releasing of one egg...this also means that two of dear hubby's sperm has to fertilize them. Also, I am pretty sure that I read/heard somewhere that it is the man that determines what the sex of the baby/babies will be. Identical twins are just a wonderful, genetic fluke of nature.
This is all in the case of totally natural conception, not fertility treatments and such.

There is no garentee that you will have twins. On this it is the female that is the deciding factor for twins. Are there any twins on your mother side of the family? The only other way for twins to happen naturally is if you are in your upper 30's, when your body release to many eggs. Unnaturally are the get yourslef preggo drugs :) But you could end up with a lot more then just 2.

There is not a lot you can do to make yourself have twins - its all down to your genes!
If twins run in your family then you may have a greater chance, but there is no guarantees.
You should be happy if you get pregnant with just one child - twins are very hard work!

Adopt. Unless you have twins running in both your families, it is unlikely you will even have twins. It usually skips a generation, if coming from one side only. Taking fertility drugs often increases but then you may have 6. It's also expensive & the doctor probably wouldn't prescribe unless you had trouble getting pregnant at all.
Then there is the issue of a male & female twin. The male hormone, testosterone often affects the female & inhibits her ability to have children - "free martin". I also just read that female twins of a mixed pair also have more masculine features & marry less.

If you get a good answer... let me know! LOL, I would love to have twins, maybe even triplets... but we've been ttc for 3yrs9mth with no luck. The way I see it, if I have multiples, I never have to worry about ttc again! We're now doing fertility treatment! Double baby dust to us both!

Unless you want to pay for unnecessary fertility treatment and risk having triplets or more there's not a lot you can do! Twins usually run in families or result from older women getting pregnant.

you should contact your ob. you can be on fertility medicine to make you produce more eggs, that way you have a higher chance of twins, but its not just twins, you would have a higher chance for triplets or more, so be careful.

fertility drugs that cause you to release multiple eggs. other than that, it is strictly nature that decides who has twins and who doesn't. But you still aren't guaranteed one of each.
