Why do we have cheerleaders in every high school in the U.S.?

I honstly dont know and in some ways i think its inapropriate. Its a very good question to ask but why are you asking what are the reasons ??
Anyway given the paedophiles out there these days having girls in skimpy outfits just doesnt seem right. Cheerleading used to be honest innocent fun for girls back in the days but in this "TO CATCH A PREDATOR" age fathers wives and somebodys brother and uncle are having a hard on watching your lil daughter or sister jumping around doing the splits with those pom pom's.
I suppose cheerleaders are around in highschools in order keep them busy and give them something femanine to engage in and maybe its tradition and part of the AMERICAN SCHOOL CULTURE or somehting.

Cheerleading is a sport and a 109 year old institution that uses organized routines made from elements of tumbling, dance, and stunting to direct the event's spectators to cheer on sports teams at games and matches and/or compete at cheerleading competitions.
Imagine if there was no cheerleading at all; sports games would be less noisy and undoubtedly less exiciting. Also, like I said earlier, cheerleading is a sport and thus is healthy for the body, mind and soul.
Eradicating cheerleading would be equivalent to destroying 109 years of history.

It's the biggest part of motivating a team and entertainment at the same time.
New rules are being engaged now since accidents have occurred. Cheerleaders are doing more dagerous stunts that have crippling results.

I think its great and it is a sport. Its part of American culture in sports on a high school & college level. Im not into watching cheerleading cometition or anything but I think its good moral for schools.

I dont even know what's the significance in them. They're gorgeous! But If you were a cheerleader here in Australia - you'd be laughed at.

there cool and some of them are very sexy and cheerleaders some time represent school football teams some of them enjoy cheerleading or some of them just want to be populuar

I don't mind them because I was one, however, there's always the idea that people have about cheerleaders, which say that they are stupid which is not always the case.

Well it is used to show support to the school team, but these days most of the girls don't "cheer", they just, how should i put it, sluts, and are like books, everybody pages through them.

Because we gave you something to look at. I was always on suspension. Not a good thing for everyone so no need for resentment or derision.
