i know its too late.. but i've watched it many years ago. its called 'Casper', a film which has been produced by Steven Spielberg 1995 if i'm not mistaken...? anyway, i love the film so much!.. very touchy.. but i could not recall about why and how did the Casper become a ghost?... According to the story, ghost will become ghost because of they have unfinished business on earth. so i wonder what is Casper's unfinished business that prevent him from crossing over.. and i wonder why his uncles become ghosts too.. can you answer these?... thanx

he played in the cold too long. a newspaper can be seen in a scene that said he died of pneumonia.

The first answer is correct about why he died.. but he stayed there because his father was grieving .. He was trying to comfort his father... then when his father died he forgot who he had been and why he was there.. (Until Kat found his toys)
