Get him to a sleep study, insurance pays for it and they can tell if he has things like any sleep disorders. My wife WAS horrible I would wake up dreaming I was mowing the lawn. She went to a sleep study and had her nose operated on. It doesn't really hurt and Vicodin is great.... she now hardly snores at all and we both are a lot more rested. Her problem was the flap at the back of the throat was enlarged so they laser cut it. Problem solved. she also had trouble breathing through her nose. They did work in there and in 24 hrs she was back at work. It really helped

I feel for you...I have the same problem. OMG, it is horrible.
Most of the time, I use silicon ear plugs, they cut about 60 decibels. Yes, you can still hear the snore, but not so much, you can sleep through it.
Other ideas is the brookstone store has a snore pillow that supposedly encourages side sleeping, and sewing a hard lacrosse or tennis ball into the back of the pjs to keep him off of his back. I have bought a body pillow that helps him lie on his side which is better.
The doctor may be able to do a special injection in the back of the throat to tighten up the loose skin back there. The type of doctor who does this is an ENT.
Good luck, there is no perfect solution.
My hubby is out of town right now, and I feel great!!! I slept real well. Isn't that totally sad?

In order to realize your hubby that snoring causes discontentment to you, it is advised to you tha t when your hubby is sleeping, you should also snore yourself louder than his snors. Then he will realize that snoring is a very bad phenomena. It must be cured by exercise and medicines as his muscels have become very weak which vibrate while he is sleeping. There is no other remedy to avoid snoring of your hubby, either you should do the same t hing or change your room to get sound sleep.

I found some tip of how to get rid of your snoring from online. I hope it may help you to get an idea what you should to do with your hubby.
Here's how you can solve your snoring problems. To get rid of your snoring problems, try to sleep on your side or stomach or raise the head of the bed four to six inches Avoid snoring problems by not using alcohol as a night cap and stop smoking.
To get rid of snoring problems you can try out the many things that we tell you on our site. A few of these tips to avoid the snoring problems are not to eat a heavy meal before sleeping, to lose weight and to try nasal dilators to keep nostrils open and so on.
If none of the above seems to help, talk to your doctor about the many surgical procedures available to control your snoring problems.

My husband snores also. I used to think he sounded like a kitten purring, the past couple of years he sounds like a trumpet. I bought a nose spray for him called Snore Stop....this works really well and if he snores loudly a couple of hours after I go to sleep, I don't hear him. Try this.....it helped here, Good luck.

I'm going to give you a simple exercise that opens up your throat... and removes one of the most common blocks that cause snoring: A tense jaw.
The exercise you're going to do shows you immediately how incredibly simple.... how incredibly effective it is to start strengthening these muscles, and clear up your airways.
Let's begin by putting your upper and lower molars together, very lightly. ( back teeth )
Now open your mouth pressing the molars as wide a part as you can, without stretching. Repeat this ten to twenty times.
Make sure you only focus on your molars. All that matters is putting the molars together and then lowering your jaw... like hinges on a door, for about 20 times in a row.
After about 5 to 10 times you should feel your jaw muscles strengthening and the back of your mouth opening up.
This is the weak tissue that you are contracting, which you feel opening up your airways.
The muscles you now feel contracting in the back of your throat... are one of the main problem areas in husbands snoring.

Put a pail of water by his side of the bed, when he starts snoring, put his hand in the water, he will wake up because he will have to pee. Then you can get some sleep. Otherwise a pillow over his face works just as well.

first try those nose strip things...and if that don't help take him to the doctor...he may have a a serious snoring problem that can only be fixed with a doctors help...
otherwise for now...maybe try sleeping with some headphones(or just eh ear peice things) on and listen to some soothing music (i know head phones may be uncomfortable...but worth a try?)
I'm sure you have tried it, but maybe some ear plugs might do the trick....

Haha yep I snore because I wake myself up sometimes. Having a deviated septum causes alot of mine. When I am really tired, I snore.

I have put up with it for years.
I have tried the kicking in the back, the nose strips, those pillow things everything. Like you I even tried moving to another room but you can hear him wherever you are in the house.
Now I have earplugs, well fitted ones and I cant hear a thing which is wonderful.
If you dont want to go down that route go with him and visit the GP, tell him how desperate you are feeling and they might be able to help.
