If you have a SEVERE learning disorder you should be in special schooling, and not high school, anyway.

BUT

A learning disorder doesn't stop you living a life separate from relatives.

I used to be an Adult Educator and the majority of my pupils lived away from home, though most had helpers who visited each day.

I would suggest that you (if you are the perosn with the learning disability), at the very least, complete your high school and get your diploma (or a GED). Dropping out means you give up. Since there is always hope, always some kind of work you can do, always a way to support yourself, it would be harmful to you even emotionally to give up. What you need is self-confidence.

People learn in all kinds of different ways, ask about the different ways and try some of them. Maybe you have problems learning from reading, well maybe you can learn from example (watching someone) or learn from someone showing you, or learn from figuring out something on your own. Not everyone learns just one way.

I really don't think so, I had a learning disability but I graduated. Lots of people said I very likely wouldn't graduate, but I did so anyway.

Absolutely not! My son has a learning disability, and he has a 4.0 GPA and wants to go to medical school.

Schools have specialists that can help people understand LD's and teach people how to cope and deal with them.

Talk to your counselor, or if you don't like his/her response, check out other local schools. By law, you have to be accommodated.

only if you then joined a different learning program, one specially suited to your disability.
just dropping out of school and abandoning study all together would be disastrous.
