They hate FOX because it is (as I have said for a long time now) a pro-American news base, not so much conservative. Its like Hannity and Rush are always preaching about with the "fairness act" (which is anything but) that is designed to shut up talk radio, and their constant bashing of FOX.
If you don't agree with the liberals, they want to shut you up no matter what it takes............with them you should just get in line and shut your mouth.

Because they don't watch CNN. They only watch Fox News, and hear about the phony questions by CNN, on Fox News.

there really is no such thing as liberals and conservatives. these are labels used to minimize or over simplify socio-political policies/beliefs.
as for your question, Murdoch operations have a long history of being politically involved in the countries where they operate. they do not tend to work so hard to pretend that journalism is supposed to be objective. News Corp. has a decidedly favorable presentation of what you would probably call conservative issues and candidates.
as for the CNN question, it was not phony. the asker has ties to Clinton, but the question is a perfectly legitimate question for someone from the homosexual community. it's actually quite foolish to suggest that homosexuals serve in the military but do not admit their sexual preference openly. this archaic Judeo-Christian influenced policy is very hypocritical for a government that is supposed to separate church and state. the idea that homosexual service personnel are somehow going to divert attention from military missions is absurd. the idea seems to be that homosexuals will be trying to get it in and try to convert their fellow troops. this idea only makes sense if homosexuals are not able to achieve success in the private sector. the policy is blatant government endorsed homophobia. it's really quite silly.
i personally do not agree with homosexuality, but what other people do at home is not my business. what you do when you shut your bedroom door should not be anyone's business as long as there are consenting adults and everyone is safe.

Any thinking person needs to accept what we can expect from the profit driven media. One thing is certain. We can expect the self-serving mediacracy to continue to serve itself. To think otherwise, that is to believe or even to hope that transnational corporations will have the best interests of the citizenry at heart, is truly naïve.
The commercial model has its own internal logic and, being privately owned and relying on advertiser support, tends to erode the public sphere and to create a ‘culture of entertainment’ that is incompatible with a democratic order. Media outputs are commodified and serve market ends, not citizen needs."
The mediacracy, of course, include all forms of mass communication, including television, radio, newsprint, books and the Internet. In the past ten years, giant has become gargantuan. Mergers and acquisitions, taking place at a breathless pace, have created companies so big in scope, that many have resources greater than most countries in the world, and the clout that goes along with it.
Murdoch owns Fox and its affiliates, newspapers worldwide, satellite and television companies in the U.K., Asia and the United States. Perhaps, Murdoch himself is the best example of how big influence can be. The Rupert Murdoch information page on the Internet has him quoted,
For better or for worse, our company (News Corp) is a reflection of my thinking, my character, my values.
Just what are those values? Here are few:
$1 million in donations to the California Republican Party, $750,000 of it in the last days of the election.
$200,000 to the "Yes on Proposition 226 Campaign" (California) which places restriction on union funds spent for political purposes.
Would a man who obviously opposes labor and the labor movement, and who owns The New York Post in a town with a large Puerto Rican population, cover the anti-privatization happenings in that country? I think not. Simply put: giant is as giant does.

Afraid? Of What? There is no fair and balanced on any news show anymore.
What do you mean by phony? They all looked real to me - real people asking real questions - both liberal and conservative.
You show your true colors with buzz words, like cut & run. So, I guess I'll use one and say you must be a Neo-Con.

Liberals are not afraid of Fox no-News at all. It gives The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, The Onion, and the Stephanie Miller Show lots of comedy material and for that, we are grateful.
We are a tiny bit afraid of those who watch Fox no-News religiously.

If you're referring to the YouTube debate, I thought CNN did a poor job of choosing questions this time around.
For example, there were about three questions about guns, all three from the conservative viewpoint.

Both as bad as each other. There is no such thing as a truly balanced approach from the media regarding politics, one will always side with another, it's how it has always been. It's who sells the best BS that wins.

Both are right-leaning. 80% of talking heads on CNN are Republicans. Just so you know the truth about our corporatist-monopolistic Media today.

Fox News is a right-wing propaganda outlet. I don’t know what "phony" questions you’re referring to. Anyone can ask a question.
If Republicans are afraid of difficult questions, then they should require better vetting by the network to exclude questioners that they don’t approve of.
