I used to suffer them a lot but have them under control now without the use of pills. They really are a horrible thing to suffer, especially when people who don't ever get them, don't understand how you're feeling. They put me completly out of order, that I can do nothing but hide away in a dark room and wait until it's over. My worst symptoms have changed over the years- When I was a teenager I would be sick, but if I get them now I get very blurred vision, disorientation where i can't think straight and sometimes can't even speak properly. I remember being at school years ago and all the words that I wanted to say came out as something entirely different that made no sense at all! I also go numb down my left side (I've had it in my right side before too) where I can feel it even in my mouth, gums and nose! After an hour of symptoms I'm left with the god awful pain which is unbearable!
Do you get them and do you have similar or different symptoms?

I am delighted and pleased to report that to date I have never ever suffered from a migraine. I can sort of imagine how awful they are and am grateful that I don't.

Once in a while I get these weird headaches where I have to go lie down in a dark room and the only thing that helps is to sleep. I don't know if they are migranes. I usually get them if I wait too late to eat a meal.

No I don't but my wife does. I have watched my wife suffer for years and can only tell you that it is a terrible thing to live through. See your doctor for help but if your like my wife medications didn't help much. Good Luck Wolfie :)

Yes! It's terrible.
Aside from a pounding headache, I get blurry vision, nausea, light hurts my eyes, every move I make makes my head pound more, and every sound pounds in my head.

I hate them.
