bubs gain alot in the last few weeks but that does seem small, if there was a problem with growth your doc would have told you!! And im sure they would have checked the placenta was functioning normally.
My daughter was tiny when she was born full term, only 5lb but there was nothing wrong with her shes just smaller than most other kids
The only trouble i had with her was it washard for her to hold her tempreture up normally in the first few days as she couldnt regulate it but hats and warm jumpsuits and of course body heat from mum worked wonders!! Also her blood sugar level was erratic for the first few days and they said that was because of her size

1. they can't tell exactly what her weight is.
2. if she's otherwise active, and there's not too much or too little amniotic fluid, she's on the small side, but it doesn't have to mean anything.
3. she still has 2 weeks (possibly more) to grow.

If you're worried, ask for an extra ultrasound in a week's time. I assume they measured her head & limbs - they'll be able to see if she's grown. If they're well equipped, they can also scan the blood flow through the umbilical chord.
Listen to your body, and to her. Any change that worries you merits a check-up, and that's true whether the baby is 4,4 or 9 pounds!
Good luck to you! Neither of the 3 I had the normal way at full term weighed more than 5ish pounds - in many ways a blessing...
Anyway - have fun, I wish I could do it again...

they can gain up to a pound a week in the last few weeks so I don't think you will have anything smaller than a 6pd baby when she is delivered. Anything upwards of 5pounds at full-term is usually considered okay and she should be 100% fine. Your doctor would have told you if there was something to be worried about.

Possibly the dates are off and she is not due for a bit longer than expected?? Don't forget she could be a week overdue which gives her 3weeks to put on weight!

best of luck and relax. Ultrasounds are notoriously wrong all the time so she will be fine and probably a lot bigger than you think.

Every pregnancy is different. Is this your first, or do you have a family history of babies with low birth rates? It has been known that babies will gain 1 pound per week during that last 4 weeks of pregnancy. So, if you have 2 weeks left, your baby will be around 6 pounds. Don't worry, relax and get ready for the birth of your child. Lets us know when the baby is born.

R they completly sure of the due date? Your just a little bit behind on weight. you still have 2 weeks left and it should gain half a poud a week. So you will probably be okay. What does your doctor think? Have you been checked iugr or a knot in the cord. chances are your babies gonna be just fine but a little on the small side. maybe you will go past due and it will have more time to grow.

unless the doc says differently, don't be over concerned w/ weight right now. be sure and eat right of course but the last month is spent mainly gaining weight so she could very well hit 5 lbs or better before she's born. it also doesn't necessarily mean there's anything wrong with her. the best thing you can do for your baby right now is take care of her mom :) hang in there and try to relax... don't laugh at that, it will help even if it seems impossible. good luck, keep us posted. and don't forget to eat right :)
