try the Avery wizard, it's really simple - here's a link for some free samples of the labels, stickers, cards etc you can use with the wizard http://www.avery.co.uk/uk1/forms/qandc.jsp
Avery now also do a business card self-design online, with no need to download their software, that may be of interest to you http://www.avery.co.uk/uk1/quickandclean/index.jsp
Alternatively you could download one of Microsoft's own design templates to use in Word - here's the link to the business card templates http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/templates/CT101043091033.aspx

As others have said, vistaprint.com will do a short run (250) for "free" but you pay for S&H (approx. $5)
There's another place online that does a better job, but it's not 'free' ... iprint.com
If you want to use them AND save money, I would recommend ANY small business sign up for their own 'online Mall', which gives you rebates back on ALL the stores within the online mall.
This includes the above mentioned iprint.com and over 1100 other stores. I shop online all the time and have found it to be a HUGE savings for my small business since mostly all of the items you would need for your business can be purchased online!
You SAVE more by shopping online and then you get rebates back by shopping through your own Mall ... a 'no brainer'!
For info on it, visit my blog which has a link to the mall.

Hope this helps!

I think Microsoft Publisher has business card templates, but if you can afford it I'd advise getting some printed as they look a lot better and more professional. I second the recommendation of Vista Print!

I designed, ordered and paid for my enjoying cards from Vista Print. those much less high priced unfastened enjoying cards are almost as good simply by fact those you additionally could make on your individual printer in my view. i does no longer go with anybody to value my organization by way of the visual charm of a much less high priced organization card.

Or you can find a card you ilke out there, use Printshop and make the same card with your info on it for yourself, Then you can also make as many as you like, when you like. Most PC`s come with a free download of Printshop, Ask a friend if he or she still has there startup CD`s it is more then likely on one of them.

its not worth it in the long run, we tried it when we first set up our business..
for £100 we got 1500 double sided full colour cards proffesionally printed and laminated.. and they look so much more proffessional..
