It would be very difficult for a person who is not Christian to get elected to the Presidency in the US. That would include Muslims, Jews,Hindus,Shintos,Wiccans. The Christian right has a very strong hold on the American mind set.

Benjamin Disraeli was Prime Minister of the UK briefly in 1868, and then from 1874 to 1880. His parents were Jewish, but after a dispute with their synagogue, they had Benjamin baptised in the Anglican Church when he was 13 years old. He remained a practising Anglican for the rest of his life.
There is no record that any form of religious prejudice ever marred relations between Disraeli and his Parliamentary colleagues or opponents.

No, to both - including atheist or agnostic Presidents/Prime Ministers within the global expression 'Christian'. The only exception in Arab (as opposed to Islamic) countries would be Lebanon, but that sad country is split between Christians and Moslems.

US has not had non-Christian President (for that matter, even, women) but Secretary of State had been, a Jew. The question itself answers, as a Islamic Country only can have Muslim Head. Only secular country, like India with provisions, in their Constitution will have 'other' Heads.

I don't believe the U.S has elected anyone not of christian background in recent years neither has us Brits. But i do know that britain did elect a Prime minister who was not of the christian religion called Benjamin Disraeli who was in actual fact Jewish during the mid 1800's.
