Yeah the baby will feel relaxed when you are, but sometimes they can be awake, and thats why you feel the jitters and baby tumbles and rolls in the middle of the night...lol My baby was a night tumbler, and was always so active at night. Thats why I got most of my rest in the daytime...lol Congrats mommy!

don't plan on it... think of it this way, while you are awake and moving around, you are rocking the baby to sleep.. your body moves and the noises keep the baby nice and comfortable sleeping,,,, now You go to bed and stop moving,, gues what happens? The baby wakes up because he/she is not tired, because you were rocking them to sleep. Your best bet is to try and take naps during the day, that way you can share the rest,,, but the baby will sleep a little bit when you are sleeping,,, like all babys they play, move around, and sleep a lot.... have fun

It is more likely that the baby would be awake whilst you are asleep, when your body is laying down it is stretched out giving it room to move around, when you are walking or moving around the motion can often rock the baby to sleep.
It has its own body clock and it does not revolve around yours, It sleeps as much as any new born baby would.

You and your baby are tow separate people. Just as babies do when they are in the world, they sleep pretty much when they want, and can very well be away when you are sleep. I am pregnant with my 3rd child and my baby often moves around as i am falling asleed and sometimes is already moving when i wake and sometimes when i am up, i cant get him to move at all, so i figure he is sleep.

I never even thought about that. Interesting. Here are some articles you may want to check out for how your baby will sleep after he's born.
