Deion is the only player to shutdown one side of the field. QBs would not even look his way and the defense gave up less yards rushing on his side of the field. Deion changed the way the game was played on Defense. Does Brady have the same effect on the offense?

Very interesting!!
You are right about Deion. He is by far the best player ever. He would have had a lot more picks if QBs would have thrown his way. I might not like him but he is the best. He would line up on the best receiver and the QB would not even look his way. I read in Rice's book that he was by far the best. In order for Brady to be in the same category as Deion he would have to have defenses play pass no matter what the situation and/or win 2 more Superbowl's which he will. When Brady retires he will be the best QB ever and pass Deion as the greatest overall player ever.

Dion Sanders the greatest player of all time! That's a laugh. I'll take Jerry Rice on offense and Ronnie Lott on defense over Dion.

In fact, I think a strong argument could be made that Jerry Rice was the greatest to ever play the game.

Tom Brady is certainly a great quarterback, but his numbers this year are inflated because the Pats keep going full throttle long past the point where most teams would normally shut down or put in the second string.

I'm also not sure Tom Brady has proven he can carry a team on his back like Joe Montana, John Elway, or Brett Farve. Surely he'll wind up as one of the all time greats in numbers, but it might be in the same way that Emmitt Smith is the all time leading running back. Having the best stats doesn't always mean the greatest player.

Not Brady. And Deion wasn't all that.

Don't always believe the hype. The sports industry need superstars and they work hard at creating superstars to talk about and write about. Once they get one up there, their jobs get way easier. Then they know what they are talking about. Hyping a superstar is a lot easier than reporting the news.

Deion Sanders the best player of all time??? Dude, you're funny!!!

-Yes, he was a solid cover corner
-He could avoid tacklers in the open field

BUT

-he could not, and would not make a tackle on a running back
-he had no more than 10 touches per game
-he missed a significant amount of time due to sitting on the bench for the Atlanta Braves in the playoffs

He's not even the best cornerback of the 90's... Rod Woodson (71 ints)
He's not even the best kick returner of the 90's... Eric Metcalfe (12 ret tds)

In 189 career games:
420 tackles
60 receptions
53 interceptions
18 total career TDs (9 kick/punt ret)
18 career fumbles

In the presence of Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, Emmitt Smith, Joe Namath, Troy Aikman, Roger Staubach, Joe Montana, Steve Young, Earl Campbell, Terry Bradshaw, and 10,000 other excellent players, You think Deion (the mouth) Sanders is the best player of all time? You need you head examined!

Deion: A unique talent who rightfully scared a lot of quarterbacks with his ability to take passes the other way but yet lacked a basic talent that one rightfully expects of a defensive player: tackling. Adam Vinateri tackles better than Deion.

Brady: He might be (so far) having the greatest SEASON a QB ever had, but as far as best all time? Probably not.
