Melissa Ann, definitely. Anna Melissa flows together and sounds too much like "animalistic". Also I think it doesnt sound good to have a first and middle name both end with an "a". I do like the name Anna though for a first name...but I would try to come up with a different middle name if you do.

I think both sound good, like Anna a bit more than Melissa so would agree with your wife. If you are going with Ann, maybe it could be Anne with an e. Don't think Anna with Melissa as a middle name is that bad either - I think as most people don't need to use/say both names in every day life, it doesn't matter if the middle name sounds good with the first name that much. Good luck and congratulations.

Anna Melissa sounds like it should be hyphenated. I prefer Melissa Ann.

I usually always agree with the Mother..."Mother knows best"
But, i must admit that I like
Melissa Ann the best.
I really like the name Melissa, but PLEASE dont call her Missy.

Anna Melissa does not have as nice of a sound due to all the "a" endings.

Congrats on your upcoming girl.

Anna Melissa sounds more ethnic, like italian or spanish, or even french. Melissa Ann sounds more "american" so you have to ask yourself, do you want to sound old school (i like traditional myself) or more modern? my vote is for Anna Melissa
