Yes. My eyes used to get sore and tired when i would read a lot, to the point of me closing one eye and trying to finish reading the paper with the other. I started using Bilberry, i was dumbfounded by how much that helped me, i used the Bilberry for a long time, my eyes seldom get sore anymore. Something i am on now is Chaga, A wild Siberian mushroom, I have been taking that for a month, the results are totally amazing, my eyesight is getting better, but the neatest thing is i am see colors more sharply and clearer and brighter. So yes herbs do help your eyesight.

Carrots, corn, blueberries and bilberries are all very good for your eye health and will help to slow down the deterioration process but they won't actually improve your vision although carrots, blueberries and bilberries will temporarily improve your night vision.

There is a bilberry based supplement known as Vision Defence Formula that contains bilberry plus eyebright, lutein, zeathanthine and a few other components that is very good for your eye health and there is also coleus forskohlii but neither of them will actually improve your vision.

Ayurvedic 'doctors' are quacks who should not be listened to.

Your friend needs to keep wearing contact lens (or if contact lens aren't acceptable look into laser surgery).

The problem that requires contact lens is a misshapen cornea and nothing a person can drink or eat is going to fix it (herbal or not).

I am not sure of the answer to your question. But I do think that computers/television ALL have a GREAT negative affect on our vision especially when used for long periods of time.

No herbs will correct your vision.
Not ayurvedic herbs, not homeopathic crap, not traditional chinese herbs, not european herbs, nothing.

Well it can't hurt to try, can it? If a remedy looks safe (this one does) then give it a shot. My husband finds relief from his joint pains from Ayur Vedic medicine, it's the only thing that works. I'm sure it varies. Our experience as a family over the years is that some alternative remedies work great, others don't work at all, and the whole gamut in-between. If it looks safe, we at least give it a try. Just don't be too disappointed if it doesn't work.

I don't think so but I doubt it. I don't think you would want to risk taking things that are not widely used by people to your precious body.

Yes, if an ayurveda doctor has told, it has to work. There are medicines in ayurveda to correct eye sight. Urine therapy also works to correct eye sight. One has to put urine drops in the eye and lie down for 10 minutes.
