Marabunta generally is a colloquial name for SPIDER WASPS or any very large stinging wasps. These wasps are in the family POMPILIDAE.

Such name became popular as it was used to call an ARMY ANT in the movie The Naked Jungle.

Scientifically speaking, ARMY ANTS are for REAL not just in fiction. They tend to form an aggressive predatory foraging groups, known as RAIDS where huge numbers of ants all forage simultaneously over a certain area, attacking prey en masse. ARMY ANTS species are members of the true ant family FORMICIDAE.

Have a look at a picture of safari ant soldiers making tunnels to provide a safe route for the workers at Mount Kenya.
