Side by side or the ones that have the freezer on the bottom?

Definitely freezer on the bottom. You get so much more space in the part you need the most and the freezer is still decent size.

Actually, I prefer the kind with the freezer on top.
Besides it being handier to get frozen stuff in there, it's also ideal for really hot summer days -- you just open the door and stick your head in their for a moment or two to get refreshed.

depends on how much space and food you have. :)) i don't think one is better than other.
