she my BFF and she awesome she is always great and bright. i love her like a friend to death. but when ever i want to talk about depressing/ sad stuff that goes on in my life she changes the subject. what can i do to make her listen?

maybe she doesn't know how to handle stuff like that, or just doesn't and that's how she deals with it. sometimes people don't want to hear stuff. so they don't. you could tell her what you are asking us though and see what she says.

You can't make her listen. Some people do not want to talk about depressing things. They try to avoid thinking about them.
You could however, tell her that you really need someone to talk with. Ask her if she would mind giving you about 15 minutes to talk to her about what you are going through and get her opinion.
Get your thoughts together ahead of time, and make it short and to the point. She will not listen for too long, if she is one of the people I described earlier.

Um, you can't make her listen. She changes the subject because she doesn't want to hear it. Not a good friend because she should be there to listen and you should not have to tell her that she should know that.

She probably just doesn't think she's ready to deal with those kinds of situations yet. Maybe:
-she's shy to the extent that she is afraid of sharing her opinions
- she doesn't want to accidentally say something bad and hurt your feelings instead of helping you
You should just tell her that you'll be glad to hear her opinions and since you two are best friends, you should be able to. Tell her that you'll be open to anything and everything.

i don't know what to say but some people have a hard time talking about things like that so you might just ask her and explain that you want talk about it although she might not like to hear that you are having problems and is trying to cheer you up.

maybe she doesnt want to encourage you to be a drama queen :s just ask her for her opinion when you start talking she'll have to listen ;p
