Just... dense... like a black hole or something! They don't even know it most of the time! DENSE!!
Like those people who don't know how a stop sign intersection works. The first person to pull up has the right of way, when in doubt yield to the person to your right, not "wow it feels like time to go I think I'll accelerate".
Oh, and by the way, it's NOT "ok" to not know where New Zealand and Afghanistan are on a globe, an idiot moron fool could tell you that. Some people need to be put into meat grinders to feed dogs more useful than themselves.

What's with all those quotation marks? If your first language isn't English then fine, that's understandable.
Why is it important to know where Afghanistan is? Because someone who doesn't know where their country is having wars has no right to vote on deciding whether some poor Afghan kid has shells landing in his front yard. Anyone who can't handle basic geography is probably lacking in a few other information departments as well. I can't imagine why you would try to justify ignorance.

I hear ya! It's unfortunate enough when people are so stupid. But it REALLY gets me when they don't seem to think it's a bad thing! As if it's not something they should try to fix!

Haha! Like in my comparative literature class at a frikkin' UC I was the only one who knew where Central America is. One guy said it was in the Caribbean. And no one thought that was a bad guess. (Except the professor who nearly self-destructed. ^^)

I'm scared. Our species is de-evolving... ;-P

Yes I do wonder. I wonder at the enormous ability of some people to be very judgemental of others. I wonder why it's so 'useful' to know where NZ and Afghanistan are on a map, and why someone who knows the answer to that is so much more 'useful' to society than someone who doesn't. I wonder if Mother Theresa knew or cared where things were on a map?

I hear your complaints, although driving and geography don't scare me as much as people with extremely rigid opinions on important issues, but no education to back them up.

And people who haven't learned basic grammar and spelling? Yikes.

If the remedy is ""Educating People"", anybody is sure that the people responsible for educating others are not distortly educated in the first place.
I think "It won't work".

You must be an angry person. Not all people have a mind like yours and thank goodness for that or we would be living in a world of snobs!!!! Ever heard of being 'dumber than dumb?'

Being dumb is not so bad. Dumb people are happier than most geniuses.
