Hi my husband and I are looking at calling our baby Lucas, but I am a bit worried it will get teased because it ryhms with mucas - what do you think? Does anyone like the name?

I know 2 boys named Lucas...and have never heard of them being teased for their name...as a matter of fact, one is very popular & cute! Go for it!

I had a friend with the last name "Lucas." She did get called "Lucas Mucus" in elementary school. I don't think that is a reason not to name a child Lucas, though. It is a good name. Not every child named Lucas will be called that. And kids make fun of other kids for all sorts of things. Giving your child an non-make-fun-of-able name will not assure that he is not made fun of in some other way. I believe in avoiding names that are overtly bad (like Dick or Fanny), but I don't think Lucas is one of those names that begs to be made fun of.

I like the name. You can always name him Lucas and he can choose to go by Luke if he wants.

Lucas is one of my all time fav names...
i dont think many kids in primary school know the word mucus and wot it means. by middle school hopefully ur little Lucas will be able to fend that off, n not let it bother him
he can always call himself 'Luc' instead, if it bothers him
