Usually after a make the other team celebrates a little and is a bit lazy to get back on defense. The second they make a basket, your team needs to get the ball out of the rim and get it moving up the court with guards running the lanes. This should be almost instantly after a make. As the person before me said, boxing out and playing solid defense is the main thing to do.
By trapping the ball you will force the opponent to throw a bad pass. When you trap don't steal the ball and foul, just keep the opponent from moving and wait for a bad pass to be thrown to your teammate who is denying the pass.
Other than that: run, run, run.

Passing is one of the most fundamental skills and it serves to beat a great half court team and a great defensive team. To make a pass you have to fake a pass.
Also, shutting down a half court team will take great concentration and defensive intensity.
Good luck!

It probably would have to start with getting on the fast break. As such it starts with getting the rebound followed by a nice outlet pass. Aggressive defense that results in either steals or deflections lead to easy scores as well.

It's definitely rebounding, but you need to start with a solid defense, don't give them easy buckets, no lay ups, contest every shot and like spiderbeef23 said rebound and run but you have to finish the break.

Win the rebounding game. That sets up your transition game. Force them to miss their shots, hit the boards and run like hell.
