Again I must repeat, picking up girls is pretty much the same everywhere in the world. It all depends on what you're looking to do. I don't know why people think Japan is any different.

There are those who will milk your wallet dry, if you want to meet some fast at some bar, those are the types, others who couldn't care much about who you were.
So again it depends. Not just a Japanese thing, same applies in most other places you might visit in the world.

Well, I'm married so I don't do a lot of picking up girls.

You don't say anything about yourself or where you are from. If you are white, that'll help you out. If you are from the US, UK, or somesuch, you'll have an advantage as well in the fact that you probably won't expect the girl to do everything for you, so they'll think you're very sweet.

Hmm... Many of the Japanese girls are materialistic.
So make sure to dress in nice expensive clothes with a good taste (just wearing a t-shirt and a blue jeans doesn't do it) and be clean, and have some extra money in your wallet.

Being able to speak Japanese helps a lot, since not too many girls are fluent in English.

As long as you show the respect and act well-mannerd, they will show you the same courtesy.

Yeap, station in Japan. If you go follow their customs, be polite and if you pick up a girl, make sure she speaks a little english. Most of all be friendly, and smile. I dated a japanese girl and I went back over and over again. I just like their passiveness. Enjoy the food and sitesee. Again Enjoy
