Suns. With Parker and Ginobili, the Spurs have a core for the future. Plus RC Buford and Popp are great at evaluating talent and bringing in people who will help out.
The suns run on Nash. And they haven't won a chip since he got there. The Spurs have no pressure on them.
Suns. Final Answer.

I've never heard the phrase "window is closing" on a team that has already won championships....multiple ones at that. Talk of San Antonio's "window" is irrelevant--they've won more chips in the Tim Duncan-era than Phoenix will ever see.
That being said, Phoenix's entire system is built around Nash, and while I'm too lazy to go look up numbers, in the games that I've seen him play this year, Nash has looked a half step slow, at least. No doubt, he is still a great PG--one of the best in the L. But as he gets slower and older, you'll see Phoenix become less and less dominant....In fact, Isn't it already happening this year??
Only time will tell...how about this...all of you who disagree, check back with this question at the end of this season. Hopefully, you're still on this Yahoo Answers site so I can holler out your name and tell you how right I was...
Good luck.

Phoenix Suns. Steve Nash is getting old. Give Parker and Ginobili a competent power forward and the Spurs are still elite.

suns, dude.
alot of people are accusing the spurs of being old, when in fact duncan is only 31, ginobili is 30 and parker is 26. the spurs will also have significant cap flexibility in the coming years with a number of their senior citizens retiring, allowing the team to sign key free agents. and that duncan extension where he left $11million will come into play once the extension kicks in allowing more flexibility. that's what good fiscal management by the front office and a great team player does for you.
as for the suns, they're a luxury tax team because they are burdened with huge contracts by overpaid players. this is the year they have to win because by the coming summer, they'll have to blow up the team or risk paying a huge tax.
(after reading the posts below me)
pff... typical suns fan reaction... denial. spurs are in a position to contend til the end of the duncan era. for the suns, its now or never. that's the reality. live with it.

I agree with anyone who says that both windows aren't closing and Suns windown are now getting fully open. Spurs have already been open, so we will have to see who wins when the compete for the western confrence later in 2008 :)

Wow, I can't believe some of yall are under the impression that the Suns are going to fall off before the Spurs. Duncan is already getting old, as is Michael Finley, Brent Barry and Robert Horry. Tony Parker is a great penetrating pointguard, but he can't consistently knock down the midrange/outside shot, and once Duncan is no longer a factor, it's going to be a lot harder for him to get to the rim off the drive. Ginobli is a decent ball player but is far too inconsistent to be a go-to scorer on a repeated basis. Let's not forget that Oberto is already in his 30's and his game is not going to get any better and Fransisco Elison is pretty much in the same category. Udrih is virtually a poor mans Tony Parker and Bruce Bowen is only effective from a defensive standpoint.
The Suns though, have a lot of talent AND potential in Amare Stoudamire, Leandro Barbosa and Boris Diaw. Don't even get me started on how effective Steve Nash and Shawn Marion are at this stage of their careers. Hell, Nash is getting better physically AND statistically with each coming year and please believe he's educating and helping Leandro get his game on point to take over when he's no longer capable of getting it done night in and night out. Marion is probably the most underrated player in the league right now, and he's shown no signs of slowing down, as he's just now hitting his prime.
Let's also not forget that if Grant Hill's ankles can stay healthy, with the abilities he has at this age, he could easily be effective for another 4-5 years. Though he's injury prone, he doesn't have nearly as many miles on his body as the other players in his age range.... and again, it's GRANT HILL, people.... He may not be the "Air Apparent" people proclaimed him to be early in his career, but he's still one VERY INTELLEGENT basketball player.... Suns are easily the better team. Take Duncan out of the equation with the Spurs, and you've got a barely over .500 team.....

Suns. He'll be retiring within a few years so if they don't win the title this year or next years I think they won't win it..I still think once he's gone they'll be able to win games but Nash will be hard to replace

Haha, they're the top two teams in the West right now and both have the best chances at making the finals in that conference. They're both duking it out for the best record. I don't see how people can think that possibly, the "window is closing" for either team.

i agree its the suns. the suns will only go as far as nash can take them. nash is what makes the suns work, without nash, the suns are very average even with amare and marion. plus nash is older than duncan, manu, and tony. so the suns window is closing quick. thats why they always trade away their draft picks...because they need to win NOW!!!

the Suns are hungry for an NBA title, the Spurs (like the Heat) seem to have a "been there, done that" attitude.
