you start by being in plays in your local community theatre(s)
then you take professional classes, then you are in more plays and take more classes, and a little guided reading is a good idea, when you have been in enough plays and taken enough classes to have a good resume, you get a head shot and apply to agents for representation,.This process takes a long time, pehaps a few years even. Everyone on this site wants the same thing. Skip it and get a good education. Your chances are practically nil. I wish someone here would express a desire to be something other than an actor, singer, or writer.

take drama course at a local CC or JC or voullenteer to work at a back street theater and learn from the ground up
Move to LA and start doing extra work after Jan when they start TV production again

practice acting at an institute or sum.. build up ur PR n try getting into a theatre group!
