I'm a bit old for fun nightlife but Mitchell Street would be a good start and I have heard that Throb on Mitchell St is good. Go to the Wharf for dinner. There is a great choice of food, it's in the open air, there's a bar, it's wonderful. Just tell a taxi driver if you don't have a car.
One downside, Darwin is way behind the rest of Australia when it comes to smoking. It is allowed in pubs, clubs and eating areas like the Wharf and restaurants.

depends on what ur into.. if ur into clubbing and all u could visit Discovery which mainly plays house music and occasionally hip hip or The Vic which mainly plays rock and occasionally rnb.. there are also less nightclubby more bar - like places such as shennanigans or the ducks nuts.. there are many places suited for people with different tastes u just got to take a short stroll around the area.. (not that big anyway).. by the way throb is an option as well but just letting you know its a gaybar... in case u didnt know
