Start off by saying good morning/ good afternoon...whatever it is. And then ask a question that relates to what you will be talking about. One that the group might know the answer to before they hear your lecture. Or one that will be answered in your lecture.

If your presentation is with a new group or not a class you teach every day or week... start out by saying, "I'm so happy to be here and have the opportunity to spend this time with you." Then answer the "unasked question" of what's in this for me..why should I be here? with---"If you like to learn how to make this the best ever...or learn 10 ways...or what ever your topic is...........raise your hands and say YES!" While you raise your hand.

Smile, have high energy at the beginning and at the end... look around the group as you speak ...then go into your presentation..
If you'd like a few tips..

You want to grab the audience's attention! You want to engage them in the topic. Start with a thoughtful question, engaging quote or interesting story about the topic.

Best wishes and good luck.

Start with a welcome statement. Follow it up introducing your key speakers, if you have others who will be speaking. then put a little joke out there to lighten the mood.
Let everyone settle down and then "Shall we begin?"
